In the Left Corner is The Dodge Starter
Mon and Tues
I'm beat from head to feet. I took the transmission out on Monday and Tuesday. Everything was going good until the very end. I wedged the Dodge starter between the engine block and the exhaust. Just as Shane and I were sliding the transmission out I hit the exhaust. It forgive me about 4 times for hitting it but it finaly said "SUPRISE BITCH"! I got the full blunt force of a 12 inch drop from the starter on my melon. It must weigh a good 8lbs, sharp on 9 sides, and it hit me with a smile. I seen stars and birds flying around me pointing and laughing... But the removal went on as the blood ran into my eyes.
Wed and Thurs
I removed all the EGR (engine gas recirculation) crap from off the top of the engine and off the exhaust manifolds on Wed. I took off and painted both exhaust manifolds and removed the back pressure butterfly. I found out I have 4 broken exhaust manifold bolts in my heads (both fronts and rears). I tried for about 2 hours to remove them with no success on Thurs. So I just put new exhaust gaskets on and put the exhaust manifolds back on with new bolts.... fuck it because It worked fine all this time with 4 broken bolts and I never knew any difference.
I removed the AC compressor and most everything off the intake of the Dodge. I got almost all of it swapped over to the new intake. I got everything out of the way for the valve covers and intake to come off. I cut the holy hell out of my thumb and decided to hang it up for the rest of the night. My opposable thumbs are pretty important tools.
Fri and Sat
The old intake was removed Friday and the new intake was installed on Saturday morning. I took the the valve covers off, cleaned them up, and painted them too. I got some of the hoses and wires put back on. I was told where to get a clean signal from my distributor and I hooked the electronics up to it. I setup the signal generator and got the software setup for the misting system since the Dodge isn't running. The guy at CoolingMist told me to set it up and it wouldn't notice the RPM surge (that the software was smart).
I got the transmission to the tranny repair guy on Friday. He said it would be 400$ for the rebuild and it would be ready in a week or sooner if there is nothing else wrong with it.
NEW VIDEO HERE
Dodge won't start without a transmission in it. But I think almost everything is ready to go as soon as the tranny is back in. I wrote all this down as I done the stuff, but I can't remember what I had for dinner on Tuesday night (after I got hit with the starter).
I haven't sold a rewired alternator in over 6 months and the donations are weak if any. But that is ok. I know God is watching over me. I need about 1000$ for all my bills and 1000$ for transmission fluid, tranny rebuild, new oil, new wire, new hose, lots of little parts, and the gasoline I'll need for the first road tests (at least 200$ worth).
2000$ Lord.... last move to Checkmate.
